So far this year, the session has been devoid of constructive, meaningful ideas. Instead the legislature has opted for itsy-bitsy little laws designed to help the same good-ol’-boys have their way at the taxpayers’ expense while serious issues go unattended.
As of press time, the following bills are still pending:
* LB 229: Develops a formula for distributing tax incentives to businesses that make small towns smell like cattle poop.
* LB 991: Requires a five-year sentence for marijuana possession, unless they share.
